Sheltie Breed Standards

Sheltie breed standards are completely described on the website of the American Kennel Club. This site, Shetland Sheepdog Station, is not really geared to the showing of the Shetland Sheepdog but more towards the Shetland Sheepdog as a pet.

That is not to say I disagree with showing dogs, in fact I admire those people and those dogs, all breeds. They are awesome!

Because my sheltie, Murphy, is neutered or not intact, he can not be shown in certain shows. But he can compete in local shows, which I do not presently have him participating in.

I think as owners we should know exactly what we have in our own sheltie and how our pet compares to what is considered to be the standard.
